Andrés Laprida was a guitarist/composer from Argentina. His work as a performer/composer/producer earned him a worldwide following -from audiences to critics- ever since he was introduced to the public at a young age by the great Brazilian music masters Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes and Toquinho.

With a very personal sound and technique, Andrés took his music around the world in a variety of contexts; including concerts, jazz festivals, clubs, theatre, music seminars, ballet, movies, television, radio, and studio recordings.

In addition to his own CD works Latin Heart, Sortilegio, and Songs of the Moon; Andrés participated in recordings with Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Gato Barbieri, Onaje Allan Gumbs, Eric Calvi, Phillipe Saisse, Don Alias, Victor Lewis, Mark Egan, Anthony Cox, New London Consort Orchestra, Catherine Butt, DJ Spooky, Julie Eigenberg, Jaime Torres, Chango Farias Gomez, Manolo Juarez, Leo Sujatovich, Julia Zenko, Agustin Pereyra Lucena, and Guillermo Reuter, to name a few.

As a composer/producer for TV, Andrés  collaborated with the soundtracks of Highlander (USA, 2000) and Euroland 2002 (RAI/Italy). His film-scoring works include the award-winning documentary In the Absence of Peace (USA, 1995), the award-winning campaign Ilumina una vida (USA, 1990), and the films One Time (Philip Morris-Argentina 1990), Minas de Ouro Preto (Brazil, 1989), and Un sueño realizado (Argentina, 1981).

In his later years, Andrés worked for the prestigious French music publisher Les Editions du Chant du Monde, whiccalled him for three commissions: Florinda (pour grand orgue), Confidencias (pour chordes) and Vanidad de las riquezas (pour bandoneon, orgue, et cordes) that have been premiered in Paris and continue to be performed in Europe.
